I'm nothing special.
I love to ride, read, learn, listen, think.

I like to be creative in any way I can be, whether it be in training horses, painting, drawing, playing the piano, writing, whatever tickles my fancy.

I believe we are all equal, no matter religion, race, colour, sex, species, etc. Empathy for all living creatures is critical and essential.

Don't think "that's all wrong" think "that may be" hear all sides before coming to a conclusion - OPEN YOUR MIND.

Media

Sun May 10, 2009, 10:28 PM
I physically cannot watch the news. Especially the world view news, the big news stories that they cram down your throat to seemingly to paralyze you with fear; I don't even want to read it in the papers. I've always had the consuming feeling of wanting to know the other side of the story. From the mouths of these reporters we hear one side: we are good, over there they are bad. What do they think of over there? The same? Neutrality? Probably the same as "over here" Some don't care, some think we are fine, some think we are bad.

It's funny how certain races vilify each other - it usually occurs during conflicts, wars namely. They are bad we are good. The media typifies this, especially through their one view, that one view that they repeat over and over.

I've seen snippets of news segments and I have to shake my head and roll my eyes - is this the truth? I ask myself. What is the other side of the story? It can't be as clear cut as that all.

I don't believe in good or bad. Everyone has a dark side; after all humans are animals and hello - flight or fight.

So I started researching as I am prone to do every so often (usually it's ancient history, but definitely not limited to). I saw a documentary on the History channel I believe on brainwashing experiments. So as a whim I typed up "brainwashing" in the youtube search box and low and behold, I found some scary things - namely Project Paperclip, MKUltra and kept on looking up names, projects and eventually I found this gem of a video: [link] It's John Breeding, a psychologist, about media and mind control.

did you draw the picture that goes with your asylum story? I adore your All Animal poem :D
:icondawncoyote:
I did...though I did use my scanner program for the cool effect.

I'm kinda partial to "After It Is Dark" poem ;)

So excited for this story that I'm in the process of writing! It's turnin out to be so twisted! :D

Mwah ha! Found you (thanks to your Facebook message...) Hay is evil. Unless you stack it and jump it. Then it's a x-c fence, which I think I'm the only one who would jump it at the barn. And incompetent people... well I hope I'm not included in your list! Enjoy the day off and paint/draw/write/rant :D
:icondawncoyote:
I've jumped hay and straw before...though not stacked up. Once I was jumping my QH over some and he over jumped it about three feet. My old trainer had exclaimed that he jumped 4' in the air - my stirrup irons had fallen off after as well. (I had a crappy saddle.)

Then there was this jump that Cathy made at Joanne's place - it was two straw bales on their sides, then the big white pylons on top, then a pole on top of that...I think I measured it at 3'3. We had a couple run outs - probably more due to my error more than anything, but I admit it was fun!

(and no, you are not on my list - you actually know how to work. I've had to work with some crazies though! Glad there's only good workers now so far - though that other "short" Jen who only worked for a couple of days was...odd..)
